Main Board

The main board includes the Parrot P6 central CPU of the AR.Drone. The P6 chip has been specially designed for the AR.Drone. It includes a 468 MIPS ARM926EJ Risc CPU and a video accelerator.
The main board runs Linux along with AR.Drone software, and includes a 256 Mb, 200 MHz, 32 Bits MDDR RAM and 32Mb of NAND Flash. It also includes a Wi-Fi chipset from Atheros and a USB Port for direct flashing and future extensions.
The Atmel P6MU chip is a power management chipset and also includes the 60 FPS vertical camera. The video resolution is QCIF 176 x 144pixels, which combined with the accelerometers provides the AR.Drone’s horizontal velocity.
The Parrot software performs stabilising and auto piloting of the AR.Drone, video compression from VGA to QVGA, compressed with a MJPEG video codec for the frontal camera, QCIF and MJPEG for the vertical one plus streaming.
